Severity, tractability and neglectedness: where does a resource help most?
With the same resource, where do we help most? Compare two problems using the criteria from Volume VIII, chapter 1.
A and B side by side
- Problem A
- Problem B
The starting values repeat the example from the book: A is more serious (900,000 victims), but the resource helps more victims in B. The neglectedness criterion says that the fewer people are already working on a problem, the more difference each additional person makes.
